Advertising material in Affiliate Marketing
In Affiliate Marketing Merchants make their advertising material available to the Publishers to enable them to integrate these materials on websites or in newsletters. Advertising material can be classified as banners, text links, pop-ups or other graphical or animated displays. Due to the fact that banners are nowadays being understood as usual and common, new advertising forms are trying to attract users’ attention. We have listed some of the advertising materials.
Advertising material
- Classic banners
- Skyscraper ads: They usually appear on the side of the web page as an especially long vertical rectangle so it is visible while scrolling down.
- Sticky Ad: The advertisement “sticks” in one place on the screen to remain permanently visible for the user, even while scrolling.
- Pop-ups: The advertisement opens automatically in a new window which lays either above the current window or opens in the background making it visible only when the browser is closed or minimized.
- Video-Ads: A video that contains an advertising massage; after clicking on the advertisement space the advertiser’s website opens.
- Flash Layer: A flash-based and animated advertising form that may be any one of the above.
Embedding advertising material
The advertising materials are offered in affiliate programs. The Publishers, who take part in an affiliate program, may just copy the respective advertising code and paste it into their site. This advertising code contains all the important information for tracking. In this way, the Merchant can be tracked, whether the embedded advertising material was clicked and eventually generated a lead or sales.
